As a walk-in, non-hotel guest, I was welcomed with such warmth and hospitality from the staff. The breakfast was simply perfect—wonderful in both taste and presentation. The variety was impressive, with even the condiments offering more choices than some luxurious hotels. The staff were attentive, approachable, and professional, making the experience even more pleasant. To my surprise, the hotel had also arranged for a balloon artist to create custom balloons for guests. This thoughtful touch truly brightened my day—I left happily with my Tiger and Dinosaur balloons! This was, without a doubt, the best breakfast experience ever!

Had an amazing experience at Café BLD, Renaissance Hotel JB! Their international buffet offers an impressive variety of dishes, beautifully presented and truly appetizing. I sampled something from every station—taking just a little of each—and everything was superb. The satay was a standout: juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The overall taste across the spread was balanced and satisfying. The dessert station was a personal favorite—lots of variety, and the crème brûlée station was a lovely touch. A dash of vanilla beans would elevate it even more, but it was still delightful. The staff were top-notch—attentive, friendly, and very helpful, which made the whole dining experience even better. It’s best to make a reservation to secure your spot, especially during peak hours. And maybe consider adding a more detailed menu preview on your Instagram page—would be super helpful for guests planning ahead! Absolutely loved everything. Will definitely be back!

Went there with my 2 buddy for a lunch buffet. A lot of varieties from seafood all the way to desserts. The cost is RM 88 per pax.Food is made fresh. The sea bass steam fish was the star of the day said my buddies. Staff was on point. They cleared the plates immediately when you are done. The place was clean too. I didn't managed to take more photos as I was busy sampling all the food stations. The only drawback is that the coffee was not good. Probably the coffee machine was not operational on that day. Overall this cafe deserves your patronage. This cafe is within the Renaissance Hotel.

The buffet restaurant at the Renaissance Hotel is impressively spacious, offering a wide selection of dishes for its breakfast buffet. Guests can enjoy everything from classic Western options like eggs and pastries to hearty Indian dishes, flavorful Chinese items, and a variety of local Malay specialties. One of the standout features is the abundance of coffee stations, ensuring you won’t have to wait long for your morning cup. During my weekend stay, the restaurant was very lively, with many families dining together. While this created a cheerful atmosphere, it also meant that the floor and buffet area occasionally became messy, which slightly affected the overall dining experience. On the positive side, the hotel makes a clear effort to cater to families—there was even a clown making balloon figures to entertain the kids, which kept them happy and added a playful touch to the morning. Despite the busyness, the buffet experience was enjoyable overall. With its wide range of food options, family-friendly vibe, and attentive touches, the restaurant provides a satisfying start to the day for both hotel guests and visitors.

Update!! I came back for the Saturday dinner with some friends, and this felt like the real face of Renaissance. I tried most of the food and it was stunning — from the fresh seafood to the lamb at the carving station, everything was fantastic. The only thing I found a little off was the satay, which was a bit too sweet for my taste. The highlight? The durian! It was everyone’s favourite — make sure to grab it while it lasts . Despite the dinner being packed with people, the staff handled it impressively well. Smiles everywhere. Thank you, much appreciated! Went to this restaurant for the lunch buffet. I expected it to be like the Christmas buffet, but it wasn’t quite the same. Some of the dishes were great, but a few fell below my expectations (the meat was a bit chewy and the seafood wasn’t as fresh as I’d hoped). A lovely surprise, though — the staff treated everyone with birthdays to a slice of cheesecake. Such a thoughtful gesture .

The weekend seafood buffet on Friday and sat offers wide varieties of food but not all items are good though Oysters are fresh but not the top grade ones. Very sadly the sashimi was quite bad. The octopus slices are soggy so is the white fish and tuna. The only edible sashimi was salmon. The cold crab legs are also ok. Do try the bamboo mutton biryani.. it's good! Fried durian roll dessert was crispy and tasty. The fried big head riverhead prawn was a surprise.. not many buffet offers this .

Came over for a "replacement" buffet, was pleasantly surprised. Cost was pretty much what you'd expect for a hotel based buffet... Kids rates are reasonable. Removed a full star as there was NO sashimi that day... It was the weekend dinner. So that was 1 down point. River prawns and oysters were the highlight. The outdoor offering of grilled oysters and slipper lobster (or as some may call crayfish) was also not bad. The neat surprise was that they had DURIAN!! served and to be eaten only at the outdoor section, it was not too bad. However only the early birds to the thorny fruit would have had more options like the Musang King. The later lot was only just mediocre Durian which was in fact over-served. Wonder what they did with the leftovers. Desserts were a nice touch. Liked the offerings, and kids will definitely have a ball. Walnut cake was without a doubt a good thing to look out for. Teh Tarik on offer there was merely the packet type, not really authentic. Best to get your caffeine fix from the Nespresso machines. Cool thing available is that they give you a special cake and deco if it's your birthday. Wait staff will croon a loud song for you and promptly disperse! Will hope to return some time, possibly if they can confirm there will be sashimi!!
